Heartache Averted!

I feel like I may have died a little tonight, for just a moment....

Our LBCC Cities by the Water Collection is a lot of fun for me. So far, all but two of the Cities are places I know and have been part of my life. I still research the cities, and learn something new about the history, the waterways, people or place every time.
We are getting ready to launch several new Cities, and tonight I was researching Cocoa Beach.

As many know, while I live on the River now, I am a beach girl through and through. While most of my high school and young adult years were spent in New Smyrna Beach, I also spent a large amount of time in Cocoa Beach. One of my favorite events to attend was the Easter Surf Festival, which was such a weekend of fun. While I haven't been in YEARS, I always knew it would be there. The event could draw 100k+ people in a weekend and had been held for over 50 years.

While the Easter Surf Festival event is still listed on the Cocoa Beach calendar, I could find no current links or current information about the Festival.  Where is it?  Is it gone?  There are articles from 2017 saying it was cancelled due to increased costs!

In my panic, I quickly texted my boys who both live on the Beach to ask about the Festival, and as of this writing, I have not yet heard back. (cough, cough, lol).
I am happy to report, when I checked the Ron Jon site, it seems as though the Festival may now be the Ron Jon Beach N Boards Fest and has morphed into something even bigger. (and now includes skateboarding, dog surfing, and more)

My death by heartache and sadness has been averted, and I may just have to attend this Beach N Boards Festival!
