Step into the storied past of St. Augustine, a city defined by its deep connection to the Matanzas River. For centuries, this waterway served as the primary gateway to the oldest port in America. In the heart of the historic district, the river opens into the Matanzas Harbor, where the salty Atlantic breeze meets centuries of Spanish heritage.

A Legacy of Stone and Sea

Founded in September 1565 by Spanish Admiral Don Pedro Menéndez de Avilés, St. Augustine holds the title of the longest continually inhabited European-founded settlement in the United States. Standing as a silent sentry over the harbor is the Castillo de San Marcos. Completed in 1695, this massive fortress is the oldest masonry fort in the continental United States. Built from coquina, a rare limestone composed of tiny shells, the fort has survived sieges and centuries of storms, remaining the oldest and most iconic structure in the city.

Modern Charm in an Ancient Setting

Today, the "Old City" is a vibrant tapestry of culture and architecture. Visitors can wander through the narrow cobblestone streets of the Colonial Quarter, explore the legendary Fountain of Youth, or climb the 219 steps of the St. Augustine Lighthouse for a panoramic view of the coast.

The Social Scene: From the unique boutiques of St. George Street to a robust world-class culinary and cocktail scene, there is something for every traveler.

Seasonal Magic: If you visit between November and January, you can witness the Nights of Lights, where millions of tiny white lights drape the Spanish Colonial architecture in a breathtaking glow.

The Supernatural: As one of the most haunted cities in America, a night-time ghost tour is a must for those brave enough to explore the city's history.

A Scent of History

Our St. Augustine Candle is designed to capture the heavy, mysterious atmosphere of the Castillo’s ancient corridors. With a complex blend of smoldering smoke, exotic myrrh, and dark oud, grounded by the masculine notes of leather and musk, this fragrance transports you back to a time of explorers, cannons, and the timeless rhythm of the sea

Candle Care Tips

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep. We recommend burning for a maximum of 4 hours each time you enjoy your candle.
  • Follow the 2-foot rule. Don't place a burning candle within 2 feet of clothing, books, curtains, or other flammable objects.
  • Keep lit candles away from drafts, ceiling fans, and any air currents. This keeps the flame burning steadily in the center of the candle.
  • Trim the wick to ¼” before every burn. This helps prevent the flame from getting too large, and also cuts down on any excess soot.
  • Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
  • When burning multiple candles at once, always place them at least 3 inches apart from each other.
  • A burning candle should never be used as a nightlight. Always extinguish any lit candles before going to sleep.
  • A candle should not be burned for more than four hours at a time, exceeding this could cause safety issues.

How It's Made

Precision and Passion: Every Candle Perfected

Each candle is thoughtfully created with superior products. Before we introduce our new collections, we thoroughly test each candle type and recipe.  We conduct multiple burn tests, ensuring the right wicks and fragrance amounts are being used, and confirm the candle is performing as it should.

The Perfect Candle Awaits After a Two-Week Cure

Once all tests are passed, we create your candle!  We then let the candle cure for 2 weeks. This allows the candle to harden, improving the melt pool while it burns. This also allows the fragrance to be distributed throughout the candle, binding to the wax, and improving the overall scent.

Once cured, another quality check is performed, and we prepare the candle to present to you.

Enjoy!
