Along the Matanzas River sits a city with more than four centuries of stories to tell. Founded in 1565, St. Augustine is the oldest continuously inhabited European-founded settlement in the United States, where narrow streets, Spanish architecture, and centuries-old landmarks make the past feel remarkably close.
Overlooking the waterfront, the Castillo de San Marcos has stood watch for more than 300 years. Built from coquina and shaped by centuries of battles, storms, and changing flags, its dark corridors and weathered walls hold some of the city’s most fascinating history. Add in cobblestone streets, hidden courtyards, and more than a few ghost stories, and St. Augustine has a character all its own.
St. Augustine draws its inspiration from the old Castillo, blending smoky incense with oud, frankincense, myrrh, amber, musk, and leather. A touch of spearmint adds an unexpected freshness to this otherwise deep, earthy fragrance.
Dark, smoky, and steeped in history.

Candle Care Tips
Candle Care Tips
- Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep. We recommend burning for a maximum of 4 hours each time you enjoy your candle.
- Follow the 2-foot rule. Don't place a burning candle within 2 feet of clothing, books, curtains, or other flammable objects.
- Keep lit candles away from drafts, ceiling fans, and any air currents. This keeps the flame burning steadily in the center of the candle.
- Trim the wick to ¼” before every burn. This helps prevent the flame from getting too large, and also cuts down on any excess soot.
- Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
- When burning multiple candles at once, always place them at least 3 inches apart from each other.
- A burning candle should never be used as a nightlight. Always extinguish any lit candles before going to sleep.
- A candle should not be burned for more than four hours at a time, exceeding this could cause safety issues.

How It's Made
Tested Until It's Right
Every Lemon Bluff candle is carefully tested before it earns a place in our collection. We conduct multiple burn tests, adjusting wick size and fragrance load as needed while monitoring flame behavior, vessel temperature, scent throw, and overall performance.
Because making a beautiful candle is only part of the job. It has to burn beautifully, too.
The Perfect Candle Awaits After a Two-Week Cure
Once all tests are passed, we create your candle! We then let the candle cure for 2 weeks. This allows the candle to harden, improving the melt pool while it burns. This also allows the fragrance to be distributed throughout the candle, binding to the wax, and improving the overall scent.
Once cured, another quality check is performed, and we prepare the candle to present to you.
Enjoy!
